IDSA Mobilizes Stakeholders to Educate New Policy Leaders on AMR

IDSA led sign-on letters through our Stakeholder Forum on Antimicrobial Resistance (S-FAR) this month to three new administration officials urging a robust response to antimicrobial resistance. IDSA was joined by 50 organizations and companies in letters to new Secretary of Health and Human Services, Alex AzarAssistant Secretary for Health, Brett Giroir, and CDC Director, Robert Redfield, MD, urging that AMR remain a top national priority.

These letters emphasize the important progress made in recent years to increase attention and funding for efforts to combat AMR, while also emphasizing ongoing needs in the areas of stewardship, surveillance, research and incentives to develop new antimicrobial drugs, diagnostics and vaccines.
