The Leaders in Epidemiology, Antimicrobial Stewardship, and Public Health (LEAP) Fellowship has received renewed funding from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. The LEAP Fellowship is a one-year program created by the Infectious Diseases Society of America, The Society for Healthcare Epidemiology of America, and the Pediatric Infectious Diseases Society aimed at training future infectious diseases physician leaders who can bridge the gap between clinical and academic infectious diseases and our public health partners.
Selected fellows are provided a $100,000 award to support at least 75% protected time for training and projects for one year. In addition, LEAP fellows will showcase the results of their year-long project at a session during IDWeek, the premiere scientific meeting for infectious diseases.
The online application portal is slated to open for applications in December on the IDSA website. The fellowship will commence on July 1, 2022. Four awardees are anticipated for the 2022–2023 academic year. For more information, contact LEAP Fellowship Project Manager Michele Wagner, MPH.
The LEAP Fellowship program is supported by the CDC of the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS).
